Public Servant

My definition of public servant would start with morals. I want someone with Christian morals. A public servant displays honesty, integrity and wants to truly help his constituents, without any personal gain for himself. I would like to be the Congressman by which all others are judged when it comes to values and personal conduct. I would treat all people, whether they share my views on policy or not, with deep respect and appreciation. A public servant should next be a fighter. A tireless crusader for better public policy when it comes to personal liberties and less spending of tax payer money. A public servant should stick his neck out with out worry of reelection to protect the interests of those he serves. He should make sure all of his dealings are open, public and above board. Not serve the interests of only the richest donors in his district, but truly serve the average person. I have a hard time believing someone worth almost ten million dollars could represent the “average person” in our district. Likewise someone that represents only the wealthy campaign contributors cannot relate to my family and how their poor fiscal policy (spending trillions of dollars, which we will have to repay) effects us. Yes, I am talking to you Congressman. You voted yes to raising our debt limit by trillions and voted yes on the “bail outs” Congressman Conaway. “We the People” deserve better.
